Vibert Jackson
The Rt Rev Dr Vibert Jackson was a Colonial Anglican Bishop in the Windward Islands from 1930 until 1936.〔''Ecclesiastical News Resignation Of Bishop Of Windward Isles'' The Times Saturday, Oct 05, 1935; pg. 15; Issue 47187; col D〕
He was born in 1874 and educated at the City of London School 〔“Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 and Keble College, Oxford〔The Times, Jan 16, 1899; pg. 11; Issue 35727; col E ''University Intelligence. Oxford, Jan. 14''〕 and ordained in 1899.〔"The Clergy List, Clerical Guide and Ecclesiastical Directory" London, John Phillips, 1900〕 His first post was as a Curate at St Matthews, Newcastle upon Tyne〔(Church web site )〕 after which he was a Missionary Priest in Calcutta and then Curate in charge of the Mission of the Holy Spirit, Newcastle upon Tyne.〔The Times, Tuesday, Mar 16, 1909; pg. 9; Issue 38908; col B ''Ecclesiastical Intelligence''〕 From 1906 to 1913 he was Vicar of St Michael and St George, Fulwell then Archdeacon in Central America and later of Grenada before his elevation to the Episcopate.
Following his retirement from the Windward Islands, he was Vicar of All Souls, South Ascot, and was an Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Oxford.
